Dr. Selvam Jesiah
Principal


Dr. Selvam Jesiah is Professor and Principal, Faculty of Management Sciences, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed University), Chennai. He is a member in major committees of the University including University Development Council, Curriculum Committee and Academic Advisory Council. Dr. Selvam served as Dean (Academic) for Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), Director, Indian Academy School of Management Studies, both institutions in Bangalore, and Dean in DoMS, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli.

Dr. Selvam is a University Gold Medalist and served in various reputed institutions of higher learning in India and abroad. He contributed immensely to the capacity building programs of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) missioned for the establishment of Business Schools and Higher education capacity building programs at the Sub-Saharan Africa.

During his assignment in Africa, he worked for AIDS/HIV Prevention Awareness Programme and involved in education to the decommissioned soldiers post Eritrea-Ethiopia War.. Dr. Selvam has published 38 research articles in the internationally and nationally reputed journals including "Economic Reforms and its Impacts in Ethiopia" published in African Development Review, Blackwell publishers, Oxford. He has also published articles in the newspapers such as Deccan Herald, Eritrean Herald and Ethiopian Herald. There are Two books to his credit, "Privatization of Public Sector Undertakings: Experimentation Abroad" as a reference book for policy makers and his second book on "Fundamentals of Knowledgement" which is widely marketed on Amazon and Flipkart. He has recently contributed a chapter entitled, "Reinventing leadership, work culture and career management in response to changing business in the COVID-19 era and beyond: Indian Perspectives" published in Bloomsbury publication.

Dr. Selvam presented many papers of management and public policy in various international conferences of premier institutions including Ethiopian Economic Association, IIM(B), ISB and IISc, Bangalore. He authored a manual, Governance Version 0.1, which provides lucid guidelines as to how to administer educational institutions in a most effective manner. He has been a trained NAAC Assessor since 2013.
