Dr. Rajalakshmi Vel has over 16 years of academic experience in leading institutions of Ahmedabad and Chennai at the graduate and post graduate level. She is a Post-Graduate & M.Phil in Commerce and has completed her Doctorate in Management (Finance specialization) from KSVV (Kadi Sarva Vishwa Vidyalaya), hmedabad, Gujarat. She was associated with Institute of Management, Nirma University as a visiting faculty for the course Portfolio Management in the year 2014. Her teaching and research interests are in the area of Capital Markets and Start-Up Valuations. She recently won best paper award for research on Cyber harassment at International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals and Gender Perspective hosted by SVNIT (2021) and a Case Study at International Communication Management Conference (ICMC, 2020) at the prestigious Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad. She has completed AICTE’s ARPIT - Online Refresher Course in Management (2021). She is also a trainer for NCFM, Mutual Fund modules and also has jointly conducted training programs on Accounting for Sales Tax Officers’ Ahmedabad. She has completed Teachers Training Program conducted by Intel Computers and Academia acclaimed Faculty Training Program at ICFAI, Hyderabad. She is acquainted with the case method of teaching for accounting courses. She has designed certification programs in cross-functional areas of FinTech and Financial Modelling for Business Valuation. She serves as an external expert of the Research Advisory Committee at Dr.M.G.R.University, Chennai. A guide by the side, she is a mentor and business analyst for a one year old start-up ‘Setty Picks’, an investment advisory firm. On a freewheel conversation, she has talked about finance foundations, risk management in few webinars. Personal interests include creative writing, market watch, IPO analysis, creating and managing portfolios.
